The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has again refuted reports that it conducts COVID-19 test for air travellers as well as collects money for same, stressing that public health laboratories provide tests free-of-charge as part of the national response

It also clarified that public health laboratories do not provide testing services to individuals for travel-related purposes.

NCDC clarification came at the background of claims that some of the designated hospitals by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) no longer conduct the test for departing or arriving passengers.

The agency said that the Nigeria International Travel Portal (NITP) was launched by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF-COVID-19) with support from the Coalition Against COVID (CA-COVID).
