Victoria Beckham has candidly revealed how she keeps the fire alive with her husband David Beckham after 21 years of marriage.
Former Spice Girls singer Victoria, 46, shared intimate details of how she “preserves that bit of mystique” in her marriage to her hunky former footballer hubby David, 45.
Victoria opened up in a letter, which she wrote to her future self, shared by Vogue.
Addressing her future self, she began with: “Years ago, you wrote a letter to your 18-year-old self. As it’s a new year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and pen a letter to my older and **fingers crossed** wiser Future Self.
“2020 and 2021 are in the distant past, but you’ve carried the lessons of that time with you. I hope you are reading this on a beach, surrounded by all the people you love! Give them huge hugs for me (wait, am I the shortest in the family now?!). You’ve experienced more togetherness with your family than you ever imagined possible (all 293 days of it and counting), and it is something you’ll no doubt cherish.”
During the open letter Victoria, who is rumoured to be set to reunite with the Spice Girls for a tour, revealed how in lockdown she spiced things up by surprising her hubby by dressing up.
She explained:“Speaking of beauty, do you remember the tips you practised during lockdown?
“You’ve said f*ck it, and put on a great dress and a smoky eye. You always liked to surprise people – especially David. Preserving that bit of mystique is always helpful after almost 22 years of marriage. (What anniversary are you celebrating now?)”
Victoria, who recently called Brooklyn Beckham’s fiancée Nicola Peltz his “soul mate,” and David first met in 1997 at a charity football match and became engaged a year later.
In 2020, the couple celebrated 21 years of marriage – after tying the knot in 1999 at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland.
Victoria marked the occasion with a video montage of photos from their time together, including loving snaps from their wedding.
As she shared the clip on her Instagram page, she wrote alongside it: “Happy Anniversary @davidbeckham” followed by three heart emojis.
She added:“I can’t believe it has been 21 years since we said “I do”. Four children, four dogs, so much laughter and I love you more each day. xxxxxx”.
While David also shared a video montage of his favourite snaps from their romance and wrote:“Well about 23 years ago I was sat in a room with Gary Neville and the spice girls were on the TV and I turned around to him and said “ohhhh I like that one in the little black catsuit”
“who would have thought that all these years later we are celebrating 21 years of marriage and have 4 of the most beautiful and perfect kids.. Thank you & Happy Anniversary I Love You @victoriabeckham”.
