An Air India Boeing 787-800, en route from New Delhi to Birmingham, was forced to make an emergency landing in Moscow after experiencing technical issues.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when the aircraft, carrying 258 passengers and 17 crew members, requested a precautionary landing at Sheremetyevo Airport. Despite the emergency, the plane landed safely, and no injuries were reported.
The aircraft had been cruising at 40,000 feet for about six hours when the crew detected a potential problem and opted to land in Moscow. After a thorough inspection by airport authorities, the plane was cleared and continued its journey, arriving in Birmingham late last night.
Sheremetyevo Airport officials provided full assistance to the crew and passengers, following international protocols for such emergencies.
